On The Motivation Behind MCDA and GIS Integration CoDE-SMG – Technical Report Series
نویسنده
چکیده
This contribution is a summary of several conclusions drawn from discussions with some of the speakers and participants of the MCDA’74 Meeting (October 2011, Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland). In it, we explore the reasons for integrating MCDA and GIS and give an overview of the concrete works that have been achieved, the tools that are available and their use. This is not meant to be a state of the art in this domain. It is merely an analysis of the results that have been accomplished and how these position themselves in the general objective that is the MCDAGIS integration. From a technical point of view to the usability that is expected from integrated systems, we will see what drives this work and the types of results that one can or should expect.

Semantic interoperability of GIS and MCDA tools for environmental assessment and decision making
A promising approach to environmental assessment and decision making analyses is based on integrating Multicriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) and GIS tools. Integration of GIS and MCDA tools can be potentially achieved through interoperability, where these tools can exchange relevant information to tackle a particular environmental problem. However, the problem of semantic heterogeneity caused b...

GIS-based Multicriteria Decision Analysis (GIS-MCDA) provides a rich collection of techniques and procedures for landslide susceptibility mapping. In this study landslide susceptibility was evaluated by applying different analytical GIS techniques based on Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) criteria. The OWA-MCDA is complemented by a Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) and a Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST)...
متن کاملMODEL: a multicriteria ordinal evaluation tool for GIS
While the integration of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Multicriteria Decision Aiding (MCDA) has attracted increasing interest from researchers in recent years, due to the wide array of applications that can benefit from GIS as well as the different types of decision problems and various models that can be used through MCDA, plenty of opportunities of integrating GIS and MCDA remain...
